Latest news from Talk More Rubbish
The environment agency has passed a new by law in connection with "Gypsum" plaster board.
As of the 1st April 2009 we cannot mix plasterboard with general waste. It can not be disposed of in land fill sites across the UK.
How it works?
All plaster board must be bagged separate to other general waste. If it isn't, then it could cause a harful toxin when mixed with other items. Therefore we collect plasterboard as a single item or collect it seperate to your general rubbish. Please ensure that you follow these gudelines or let us know that you have plasterboard within your rubbish, before collections. This way we can make all the necessary steps to ensure the safe removal and disposal of the item.
We offer you a full documentation which complies with all relevant legislation upon request. We must also stress, that Nottingham is the closest recycling plant that deals with all plaster board disposal. There is no waste disposal sites within the North East UK that can deal with plasterboard disposal.
